The top 5 must-see parks in Paris

The top 5 must-see parks in Paris

Publié dans Visit Paris le

Paris is more than the Champs Elysees and the Eiffel Tower because it’s also a green city! The capital’s green spaces are a major attraction, so read on as the Hotel Relais du Marais reveals its top 5 must-see parks in Paris.

The Jardin des Tuileries; the oldest

The Jardin des Tuileries is a beautiful example of symmetry with its verdant lawns surrounding sparkling pools and dotted with beautiful statues. An ideal place to walk, it offers superb views of the Concorde, the Carrousel du Louvre, the Rue de Rivoli and the Seine.

The Jardin du Luxembourg; a touch of Florence

A public green space that always features high on lists of the most beautiful Parisian parks, the Jardin du Luxembourg offers an exquisite mix of greenery and colours. Its 22 hectares arranged around a large central pond boast huge lawns, flower beds, dozens of statues, old apple orchards, a rose garden and greenhouses filled with beautiful orchids.

The Jardin des Plantes and its zoo

The main botanical garden in France, the Jardin des Plantes has greenhouses of non-native plants and is also home to galleries dedicated to palaeontology, the evolution of species, anatomy and mineralogy. Don’t miss the tropical plants, the huge rose garden and the small zoo.

The Jardin du Trocadéro; a special panorama

With its view of the Eiffel Tower and the Champs de Mars, the Jardin du Trocadero is crossed by winding paths wandering between lawns and groves. It boasts nearly 10 hectares of green spaces and magnificent fountains decorating superb basins.

The Square des Batignolles;

You will love this little haven of peace nestled in the 17th arrondissement’s Batignolles district. Designed in the naturalistic English garden style, it’s filled with a remarkable variety of trees, as well as a stream, a large pond and a grotto. Treat yourself to a leisurely stroll through this lush park dating from the mid-19th century.
