Da Vinci at the Louvre; a major international exhibition

The astonishing genius of Leonardo da Vinci will be on display in Paris from October 24th, 2019 to February 24th, 2020, just three Metro stations from your Hotel Relais du Marais. Accessible only by reservation, the Da Vinci at the Louvre exhibition will pay an exceptional tribute to the artist on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of his death.

Five paintings at the heart of the Da Vinci at the Louvre exhibition

The exhibition will showcase five essential paintings by Leonardo da Vinci that are usually kept in the Louvre Museum; The Virgin of the Rocks, La Belle Ferronnière, Saint John the Baptist, The Virgin and Child with Saint Anne and, of course, the incomparable Mona Lisa. It’s a beautiful way to show the central role played by painting in the life of the Renaissance polymath. These paintings, all produced in the 1490s and 1500s, will be accompanied by an extensive collection of drawings as well as a selection of paintings and sculptures from the artist's circle.

Even if you already know about the life of Leonardo da Vinci, you will still appreciate the biographical perspective of this unique exhibition, the result of more than ten years of work. In addition to numerous archival documents, you will discover carefully restored work that captures both the genius and the technique of a profoundly influential artist.
